TP Northern Odisha
Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has stepped up efforts to promote rooftop solar
adoption across Northern Odisha by participating in Seva Setu Camps organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, helping
consumers understand the benefits, subsidies and application process under the
Centre's PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
The camps were held
at four locations — Baleshwar and Baliapal in Baleshwar district, Thakurmunda
in Mayurbhanj district and Tihidi in Bhadrak district — where consumers received
information and practical assistance on installing rooftop solar systems.
Through the awareness initiatives and Seva Setu Camps, more than 400 consumers
across five districts registered for the scheme in a single day.
Consumers interacted
with TPNODL's Solar and Customer Service teams, banking partners and business
associates to understand the scheme's benefits, eligibility requirements,
government subsidies, documentation and application procedures. The direct
interactions also enabled households to get their queries addressed and gain
greater clarity on the steps involved in adopting rooftop solar.
"Clear
information and practical support are key to rooftop solar adoption. Through Seva Setu Camps and Solar Rath initiatives, we are bringing scheme guidance and
technical assistance closer to households. With the continued support of the
district administration and our stakeholders, we remain committed to
accelerating the clean energy transition across Northern Odisha," TPNODL
CEO Dushyant Kumar Tyagi said.
In Baleshwar, the Seva Setu Camp was organised on the
occasion of the Seva Sankalp Yatra and witnessed participation from Baleshwar
MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Baleshwar Sadar MLA Manas Kumar Dutta and Nilagiri
MLA Santosh Khatua.
A Shyam Prasad Rao,
Chief Program Manager, and Gulshan Kumar from REC Limited also visited the
camp, along with senior TPNODL officials, including Chief-Projects Pradeep
Kumar Mohanty and Chief Engineer-Solarization Rajib Kumar Nayak.
At Baliapal, Basta
MLA Subhasini Jena and Baliapal BDO Radharanjan Das joined local
representatives and TPNODL officials in engaging with consumers and explaining
the opportunities available under the rooftop solar scheme.
Similar interactions
were held at the Thakurmunda and Tihidi camps, where local public
representatives, government officials and TPNODL representatives interacted
with consumers and highlighted the benefits of rooftop solar adoption under the
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
The initiative
provided households with an opportunity to assess rooftop solar options for
their homes while obtaining first-hand information on eligibility, subsidies
and the application process.
TPNODL has advised interested consumers to contact its call centre at 1800 3456 718 or 1912, or visit their nearest electricity office for assistance related to eligibility, applicable subsidies and applications under the scheme.
