In a stirring celebration of the spirit of service and social
responsibility, Utkal Alumina International Ltd (UAIL), a subsidiary of
Hindalco Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, organised a mega blood
donation camp at the Nuapada Township Club House, bringing together employees
and members of the local community for a noble cause. The initiative, organised
through UAIL’s CSR Department in collaboration with the District Headquarters
Hospital, Rayagada, reinforced the timeless message that “Blood Donation is a
Great Donation” and resulted in the collection of an impressive 235 units of
blood.
The camp, organised on the occasion of the 80th Independence
Day, witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and community members,
reflecting a strong collective commitment towards saving lives and
strengthening the spirit of community welfare. The remarkable response
underscored how individual acts of generosity can come together to create a
meaningful impact on society.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by UAIL Unit Head Rabi
Narayan Mishra, in the presence of senior management team members, CSR Head Lopamudra
Mishra, Plant CSR Department Head Diganta Mohanty, and key members of the CSR
team. Dr. Ranjan Kumar Lenka, CMO of Utkal Hospital, Dr. Rajendra Mandal, and Girija
Panda, AVP, Refinery Engineering, were also present and closely monitored the
proceedings to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the camp.
The initiative not only contributed 235 units of much-needed blood to support patients in need but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of voluntary blood donation. The overwhelming participation demonstrated the deep-rooted culture of compassion, responsibility and community engagement fostered by UAIL.
The successful execution of the camp was made possible through the active involvement and dedicated efforts of the CSR team members, including Sudhir Kumar Nayak, Rupen Patnaik, Soumya Ranjan Swain, Gajendra Naik, Satyabhama Nayak, Kartikeswar Sahoo, Mohini Naik, Gouri Sankar, Sasmita, Kamdev, Badal, Liza, Hemalata, Nirupama and Devi.
