Ultraviolette
Automotive on Wednesday expanded its retail footprint in eastern India with the
launch of its first UV Space Station in Bhubaneswar, making its performance
electric motorcycles, including the X-47 Crossover and F77s, available for sale
in Odisha.
The new experience
centre, established in partnership with Jyote Motors (Energy) Private Limited,
marks Ultraviolette's entry into Odisha and is part of the company's strategy
to strengthen customer access to its performance-focused electric mobility
portfolio across emerging markets in the country.
Located at Plot No.
2865, Gautam Nagar, Lewis Road, Bhubaneswar-751002, the UV Space Station has
been designed as an immersive brand destination where customers can undertake
personalised test rides, receive sales consultations and product
demonstrations, and access genuine spares and accessories under one roof.
The centre will
showcase the X-47 Crossover and F77s, which feature a performance-oriented
electric powertrain delivering 40.2 hp and 100 Nm of torque. The motorcycles
can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in 2.8 seconds and are powered by a 10.3 kWh
battery pack, offering an IDC-certified range of up to 323 km on a single
charge.
Commenting on the
launch, Ultraviolette CEO and Co-founder Narayan Subramaniam said Bhubaneswar
enthusiasts had followed the company's journey for years and had been waiting
to experience its products.
"Opening the UV
Space Station in Bhubaneswar is another step in bringing that technology closer
to the people who believed in us. We're here to build, to push boundaries, and
to redefine what electric mobility can be -- not just for Odisha, but for India
and the world," he said.
For Jyote Motors, the
partnership marks an opportunity to associate with a technology-led electric
motorcycle brand. Devjyoti Patnaik, Managing Director, Jyote Motors Pvt Ltd,
said the company, which has completed 30 years in the market, has consistently
focused on bringing leading automobile brands to Odisha and providing customers
with strong sales and service experiences.
"One of the
largest automobile dealers in India, it is difficult to choose the right
partners with the evolution of technology with whom you would like to grow. We
take pride in whatever we bring to Odisha and always try to bring the best of
the brands to Odisha and give the best possible experience to our customers in
sales and service," Patnaik said.
"Getting
associated with Ultraviolette is something I personally feel is the future of
motorcycles. We would like to expand our association and business with
Ultraviolette as we feel they are the right partners as far as EV motorcycles
are concerned. The kind of products they are launching in India and abroad
gives us confidence in this association," he added.
Briefing the media,
Gajanan Umarekar, Senior Vice President-Business and Sales at Ultraviolette,
said the Bhubaneswar facility was the company's 47th UV Space Station
nationally and seventh in the eastern zone.
"It is
Ultraviolette's first UV Space Station in Bhubaneswar and the seventh in the
east zone and 47th one in the country. We are looking at taking this number to
100 by the end of the current financial year, FY27," Umarekar said.
He also highlighted
the availability of the X-47 Crossover and F77s for customers in Bhubaneswar,
describing the products as part of Ultraviolette's technology-led approach to
electric mobility.
The X-47 Crossover is
positioned as a technology-intensive electric motorcycle and, according to the
company, is the world's first electric motorcycle in its segment to offer radar
as standard. It comes with a 5-inch TFT display, three riding modes,
long-travel suspension and radial all-terrain tyres.
Its UV Radar
Intelligence and UV HyperSense Advanced Rider Assistance System are enabled by
a 77 GHz rear radar supporting blind-spot detection, lane-change assist,
overtake alerts and rear-collision warnings. The motorcycle also features an
integrated dashcam and a power-dense air-cooled onboard charger developed
in-house.
The company has also introduced Battery Flex, a battery-as-a-service ownership model aimed at lowering the upfront cost of electric mobility. Under the model, customers can own an X-47 starting at Rs 1.49 lakh, while battery subscriptions begin at Rs 2,323 per month.
Among others, K Sridhar, Assistant Vice President (Dealer Development), Ultravoilette, and Anurag Agarwal, Zonal Sales Manager - East, Ultraviolette, were also present on the occasion.
Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette focuses on future-ready electric vehicle platforms and battery technology. Backed by investors including Lingotto, TDK Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor Company and Speciale Invest, the company has also expanded its global footprint, exporting motorcycles to 18 European countries.
With the Bhubaneswar launch, Ultraviolette is seeking to combine retail expansion, advanced technology and flexible ownership models to accelerate the adoption of premium electric motorcycles in Odisha and other emerging markets.
