Demonstrating a strong commitment to community welfare and healthcare support, Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL) organised a voluntary blood donation camp at its Township Club premises in Nuapada under Tikiri in Rayagada district, collecting 100 units of blood through enthusiastic participation from employees and local volunteers.

The initiative, carried out by the company’s CSR department with the message that blood donation is among the noblest forms of service, witnessed an encouraging response from donors who stepped forward to contribute to the life-saving cause.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Unit Head Rabi Narayan Mishra and Utkal Alumina Mahila Club President Prabhamayi Mishra, who lauded the spirit of voluntary service and highlighted the importance of ensuring adequate blood availability for medical emergencies.

A medical team led by Dr. Gautam Pattnaik from the Odisha Blood Centre supervised the collection process, assisted by Saroj Kanta Acharya, B. Kishore Kumar and other healthcare personnel, ensuring that all procedures were conducted safely and in accordance with medical protocols.

Senior company officials and CSR representatives were present throughout the programme to motivate donors and oversee the arrangements. Among those attending were CSR Head Lopamudra Mishra, GM-Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Pitambar Behera, Plant CSR Head Diganta Mahanti, Process Department Head Uttam Giri, CSR team member Rupen Pattnaik, Health Centre doctor Rajendra Mandal, Subash Chandra Nayak, Kartik Sahu and Ashish Kumar Sahu, along with several other employees.

The camp concluded with participants taking a collective pledge to work towards a future where no life is lost due to a shortage of blood, reinforcing UAIL’s ongoing commitment to public health initiatives and community engagement in the region.
