Vedanta Aluminium,
India’s largest producer of aluminium, organised a Block-Level Felicitation
Programme under its flagship education initiative, Mission ABHIPSA, at KG Girls
High School, Samasingha, to honour 157 top-performing students from government
schools across Jharsuguda district for their outstanding performance in the
annual board examinations.
The event witnessed
the participation of more than 200 students, parents, teachers and community
members. Distinguished guests included Dr. Radhakanta Gartia, District
Education Officer, Jharsuguda; Prakash Sahu, Block Education Officer, Kolabira;
Anil Patel, Block Education Officer; and senior representatives from Vedanta
Aluminium.
Implemented in
collaboration with the district administration, Mission ABHIPSA aims to enhance
academic outcomes among students from government schools through focused
mentoring, academic support and regular assessments. The initiative is designed
to bridge learning gaps, improve board examination performance and build students’
confidence to pursue higher education and rewarding career opportunities.
Speaking on the
occasion, C. Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda, said, “Education is
one of the most powerful enablers of social transformation. Through Mission ABHIPSA,
we are working to bridge learning gaps and help students realise their full
potential. These achievements reflect the impact of sustained support and the
collective efforts of educators, parents and communities. We remain committed
to nurturing the next generation of talent for Odisha and beyond.”
Sharing her
experience, Ananya Pradhan, an A1-grade achiever from Samasingha Block, said,
“The guidance and motivation provided through Mission ABHIPSA helped me stay
focused and confident throughout my preparation. Being recognised today has
inspired me to dream bigger and work harder towards achieving my goals.”
In FY26, Vedanta
Aluminium’s education-focused interventions benefited more than 15,000
students. Key initiatives included Vidyagraha, which recorded over 11,000
student registrations across 106 schools, along with programmes focused on
computer literacy, educational infrastructure development, career counselling
and teacher capacity building.
Mission ABHIPSA plays
a pivotal role in this ecosystem by providing structured academic support,
mentoring and continuous assessments to strengthen learning outcomes and
improve board examination results. Complementing these efforts, the VeDakshata
Skill Centre equips youth with industry-relevant skills, creating a seamless
pathway from education to employability and contributing to long-term
socio-economic development across Jharsuguda.
Vedanta Aluminium
continues to drive holistic community development across its operational
regions through a wide range of initiatives spanning education, healthcare,
sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment and rural infrastructure
development, in close partnership with local authorities to create meaningful
and lasting impact.
