Vedanta Aluminium,
India’s largest producer of aluminium, on Wednesday celebrated the 90th Utkal
Divas at its Jharsuguda operations with vibrant cultural festivities, paying tributes
to Odisha’s rich heritage, resilient spirit, and progressive journey. The grand
celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 3,000 employees,
their families, and members of the local community, creating an atmosphere of
pride and unity.
The programme
featured a diverse range of cultural competitions, including music, dance, and
traditional cuisine preparation, reflecting the colourful cultural fabric of
the state. The event fostered a strong sense of belonging and appreciation for
Odisha’s remarkable legacy while strengthening bonds among employees and the
local community.
On the occasion,
Vedanta Aluminium felicitated Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, a distinguished
physician with more than a decade of dedicated service, in recognition of his
exceptional contribution to public healthcare and community welfare in the
region. The honour was conferred in the presence of the company’s senior
leadership, who lauded his unwavering commitment to social service and
community well-being.
The celebrations were
further enlivened by captivating performances from renowned Odia vocalists
Sourav Bharadwaj, Anjali Dutta, and Sachin Rout, whose soulful renditions
enthralled the audience. Mesmerising dance performances by the Debadasi
institution and a Sambalpuri dance troupe added vibrant cultural depth to the
event, showcasing Odisha’s rich artistic traditions. The programme also
featured displays of traditional folk art and handicrafts, complemented by an
elaborate spread of authentic Odia cuisine that offered attendees a delightful
glimpse into the state’s diverse culinary heritage.
