As India accelerates its push across manufacturing, energy, technology and critical minerals, the demand for specialised engineering talent is rising across the industrial landscape. Marking National Engineers’ Day, Vedanta Group, one of India’s leading natural resources and industrial conglomerates, highlighted the scale and diversity of its engineering workforce, with engineers accounting for 42% of its employees across businesses spanning metals, oil and gas, critical minerals, power and technology.

Vedanta’s engineering talent spans traditional disciplines including electronics, chemical, petroleum, electrical, metallurgical, mining and thermal engineering, alongside emerging fields such as environmental engineering, design, artificial intelligence, data science, renewable energy and robotics. This multidisciplinary talent pool supports operations across some of the country’s most complex industrial environments, including underground mines, large-scale smelters, refineries, oil and gas assets, power plants and mineral-processing facilities.

Engineers across the Group work on challenges ranging from productivity and resource efficiency to process optimisation, safety, reliability and digital transformation. The diversity of Vedanta’s engineering workforce is also reflected in its talent pipeline. The Group recruits young professionals from premier institutions, including IITs, NITs and leading private universities, alongside experienced professionals with specialised domain expertise.
