JHARSUGUDA, FEBRUARY 12, 2026
Vedanta
Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has intensified its support
to government school students in Jharsuguda ahead of the upcoming board
examinations by organizing comprehensive education camps under its flagship
Vidyagraha initiative. Aimed at strengthening academic preparedness and
expanding career awareness, the initiative conducted four focused camps across
leading government high schools in the district.
The camps
were held at UG High School (Siriapalli), VSS High School (Beheramal),
Panchayat High School (Badmal), and Government High School (Sarbahal),
collectively benefiting nearly 200 students. Designed to sharpen exam
readiness, the sessions emphasized reinforcing core concepts in Mathematics,
Science, and English. Structured subject assessments were conducted strictly in
alignment with board examination standards, enabling students to gain
first-hand familiarity with exam formats, evaluation criteria, marking schemes,
and overall assessment protocols.
By
simulating real board exam conditions, the initiative has helped students
better understand performance expectations while identifying learning gaps that
require focused attention. This systematic approach has not only strengthened
conceptual clarity but also enhanced students’ confidence and competence as
they prepare for one of the most critical milestones in their academic journey.
A
distinctive feature of the camps was the active participation of Vedanta
Jharsuguda employees through the Employee Volunteer Programme (EVP). More than
30 employee volunteers, including experienced technical professionals,
conducted interactive career guidance and academic counselling sessions. These
sessions provided structured insights into subject selection after Class 10,
higher education pathways, emerging career opportunities, and skill development
options aligned with industry needs. The engagement allowed students to
interact directly with industry professionals, broadening their perspectives
and helping them make informed academic and career decisions.
Underscoring
the broader vision behind the initiative, C Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Jharsuguda,
said, “At Vedanta Jharsuguda, we firmly believe that education forms the
bedrock of sustainable community development. Through our Vidyagraha
initiative, we are focused on strengthening academic preparedness while
providing meaningful guidance to students at a crucial juncture in their lives.
We remain committed to creating innovative and impactful avenues that enable
young learners to realize their full potential.”
Sharing his
experience, Joseph Rana, a Class 10 student from Siriapalli High School, said,
“The assessment camps helped me clearly understand how the board examinations
will be conducted and identify the areas where I need improvement. The career
guidance sessions also gave me clarity about the subjects I should opt for
after Class 10. I now feel much more confident about my exams and my future.”
