Reinforcing its
commitment to community safety and preparedness, Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda conducted
a comprehensive fire safety awareness programme along with a mock drill at
Panchpada Government High School under its Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) initiative.
During the
informative session, Fire Safety In-charge Anshuman Patidar and Fire Officer
Satyanarayan Mishra sensitised students about the common causes of fire,
various types of fire hazards, and crucial preventive measures to be adopted
during emergency situations. The interactive session helped students understand
the importance of timely response and safety protocols in mitigating risks.
Adding a practical
dimension to the programme, fire safety personnel Bulu Pera and Shiv Kumar
Mallik conducted a live demonstration of fire extinguishing techniques through
a mock drill, which drew enthusiastic participation and keen interest from the
students. The hands-on experience enabled students to better comprehend the
correct usage of fire safety equipment and the steps to be followed during
fire-related emergencies.
More than 200
students actively participated in the programme, reflecting strong engagement
and awareness among young learners. The event was attended by Headmistress
Purnamita Naik along with teachers Alok Patel, Kush Bhue, Sports teacher
Pankajini Patel, and teaching staff including Sunanda Choudhury, Jayanti Nath,
Binita Pradhan, Sangita Kerketta, Snehalata Naik, Phaguni Naik, and Pramita

The mock drill
significantly enhanced students’ practical understanding of fire safety
preparedness, equipping them with essential knowledge and confidence to respond
effectively in emergency situations, while underscoring Vedanta’s continued
efforts towards building safer and more resilient communities.
