Emphasizing that yoga
plays a vital role in enhancing physical and mental well-being while
strengthening inter-agency cooperation, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) Chairman
P. L. Haranadh on Wednesday said wellness-oriented initiatives contribute
significantly to building a healthy, productive workforce and fostering harmony
among maritime stakeholders. He was speaking at a special yoga session
organized jointly by Paradip Port Authority, the Indian Coast Guard and Art of
Living, Paradip Unit, aboard Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Varad at Paradip
ahead of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026.
Addressing the
gathering, Haranadh said that wellness-oriented activities contribute significantly
to building stronger institutional relationships and promoting harmony among
maritime stakeholders.
The Yoga session was
conducted by Yoga Guru Tapas Ranjan Pati of Art of Living, Paradip Unit, and
witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and personnel of both
organizations. Paradip Port Authority Chairman P. L. Haranadh graced the
occasion along with DIG Sanjay Negi, Commander of the Coast Guard District,
Paradip.
Heads of Departments
and senior officers of Paradip Port Authority, Coast Guard officials, and yoga
enthusiasts also took part in the programme, underscoring their shared
commitment to promoting holistic health, well-being and a culture of fitness.
DIG Sanjay Negi appreciated the collaborative initiative and stressed the role of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental resilience and operational readiness among personnel. He observed that such joint programmes further reinforce the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation between the Indian Coast Guard and Paradip Port Authority.
Organized as part of the nationwide celebrations leading up to #IDY2026, the programme reflected the growing commitment of maritime organizations towards the ideals of healthy living and collective well-being. The event concluded with a renewed pledge to integrate yoga into daily life and continue fostering a culture of wellness, resilience and cooperation across the maritime community.
