MUMBAI, OCTOBER 7, 2026

Indian prêt-à-couture label AK|OK Anamika Khanna has made its Paris debut with its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, marking a significant step in its international journey and opening a new chapter in its engagement with the global fashion community.

The label presented its distinctive design language through a two-day showroom on October 4 and 5, with the Spring/Summer 2027 collection formally showcased on October 5. The Paris presentation brought together elements of contemporary Indian design, traditional craftsmanship and an emphasis on individuality, ease and self-expression.

For AK|OK, Paris was not merely a backdrop but a natural extension of the label's creative philosophy. The city's contemporary spirit and its dialogue between the familiar and the reinvented resonated with the collection's approach to reimagining everyday wardrobe staples.

The Spring/Summer 2027 collection revisits shirts, jackets, trousers, skirts and dresses through shifts in proportion, construction and styling. Layered and lived-in dressing forms a key part of the collection, allowing garments to move fluidly across occasions, moods and identities.

Traditional Indian crafts have been interpreted through a contemporary lens, with chikankari, or shadow work, hand painting, print, metal thread embroidery and layered embroidery featuring prominently. These techniques are distorted, displaced and superimposed to create pieces that retain their craft heritage while fitting seamlessly into a modern wardrobe.

The collection also explores the beauty of the incomplete and the partially revealed, drawing on fragments of nature and everyday life. Motifs such as birds, flowerpots and suggestions of forests appear alongside hand-painted elements that dissolve into prints and overlapping embroideries, while familiar garments are reconstructed into unexpected forms.

Set against the visual language of a modern Indian home, the presentation brought together objects, textures and details that reflected contemporary Indian sensibilities, creating an environment where the familiar and the new existed side by side.

"C'est OK is about giving yourself permission to be exactly who you are. With this collection, we took familiar pieces and looked at them differently, through proportion, craft and the way they are worn. There is something very liberating about taking what you know and making it your own. For me, that is the spirit of AK|OK: ease, individuality and the freedom to find your own way," said Anamika Khanna, Creative Director and Co-Founder, AK|OK.

The presentation was designed as an immersive experience rather than a conventional fashion showcase. Visitors could sit, interact with the collection and explore it at their own pace, while texture, sound, scent, food and hospitality were incorporated to engage all five senses.

The Paris debut is also expected to serve as a platform for AK|OK to build sustained relationships with the city's fashion ecosystem, including the press, buyers, stylists, talent and other industry stakeholders. The label said future collaborations and activations in Paris are planned as part of its long-term engagement with the city.

Founded by designer Anamika Khanna in partnership with Reliance Brands, AK|OK is a prêt-à-couture label with creative direction led jointly by Khanna and her sons, Vishesh and Viraj Khanna. The label combines Indian craftsmanship with a contemporary global outlook, with a focus on versatility, individuality and self-expression.

Khanna, one of India's most influential contemporary designers, was the first Indian designer to show at Paris Fashion Week, where she debuted in 2007. AK|OK currently retails across India and is stocked at Selfridges in London, besides having showcased at London Fashion Week and maintained a presence at Saks Fifth Avenue in the United States.

The Paris presentation of Spring/Summer 2027 therefore, represents not just a new international showcase for AK|OK, but a strategic step towards strengthening the label's global fashion footprint while placing contemporary Indian craftsmanship in dialogue with an increasingly international audience.
