A 40-member
delegation of teachers from Bhutan on Wednesday praised the educational and
social initiatives of KIIT and KISS during their interaction with Dr Achyuta
Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, here.
The delegation,
comprising teachers from the Department of School Education under Bhutan’s
Ministry of Education and Skills Development, is on a seven-day visit to KIIT
and KISS as part of the Cambridge Education Academic Immersion Programme and
the ‘India Trek’ initiative.
During their courtesy
visit, the delegates lauded Samanta’s contribution to education and social
development and described his work as an example of the transformative power of
education and social service.
Members of the
delegation said Samanta was among those who had devoted their lives to
education and service to society.
They said KISS was
not merely an educational institution but a social movement that had transformed
the lives of thousands of tribal children, describing it as a “beacon of hope”
for tribal students.
The delegates also
said they were particularly inspired by Samanta’s philosophy of ‘The Art of
Giving’ and his approach of combining education with social service.
Welcoming the
Bhutanese delegation, Samanta said the achievements of KIIT and KISS had been
made possible through love and compassion.
“If you can share love with others, you can
find peace in life,” he said.
As part of the
immersion programme, KIIT has also arranged for the visiting teachers to
explore Odisha’s rich artistic, literary, architectural and historical
heritage.
The delegation will visit the historic Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves and the iconic Konark Sun Temple, providing the visitors an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Odisha’s cultural and historical legacy.
The visit is aimed at providing the Bhutanese educators with exposure to India’s educational practices while facilitating cultural and academic exchange between the two countries.
