Flipkart has further reinforced its top leadership team ahead of its much-awaited
initial public offering by appointing Somnath Das as Vice President for Supply
Chain and Digbijay Mishra as Vice President for Corporate Communications, with
immediate effect.
The company said Das
will spearhead supply chain operations for its large business vertical, which
includes appliances and furniture, with a mandate to enhance network efficiency
and accelerate the adoption of technology-led supply chain capabilities. His
appointment is expected to play a crucial role in optimising logistics
performance and supporting Flipkart’s scale-up plans in high-value, bulky
product categories.
Das brings more than
two decades of experience across manufacturing, retail and fast-moving consumer
goods. Prior to joining Flipkart, he was Senior Vice President at Jubilant
FoodWorks, where he led end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain functions.
Over the years, he has held leadership positions at Reliance Retail’s grocery
business, Nivea India, Marico Ltd and PepsiCo India, building expertise in
large-scale operations, process transformation and distribution strategy.
Alongside, Flipkart has named Digbijay Mishra as Vice President for Corporate Communications to steer the company’s brand narrative, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications at a time when the Walmart-owned marketplace is sharpening its public market readiness.
