DELHI, JUNE 12, 2026
Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will jointly inaugurate
Bharat Innovates 2026 at the Palais des
Expositions in Nice, France, on June 14, marking a significant milestone in
India-France collaboration in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
Organised by the
Government of India under the Union Ministry of Education, the inaugural
edition of Bharat Innovates 2026 is set to bring together 120 Indian
innovators, around 15 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and more than 500
investors, including leading corporates, venture capital firms, global CEOs and
industry leaders. The event will spotlight India’s rapidly expanding deep-tech ecosystem
across 13 strategic sectors such as advanced computing, semiconductors, space
technology, biotechnology, energy, healthcare and manufacturing.
External Affairs
Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and
Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India Ajay Kumar Sood are
also expected to attend the high-profile gathering, underscoring the importance
of innovation-led international partnerships.
Bharat Innovates 2026
aims to position Indian start-ups and deep-tech enterprises before a global
audience of investors and industry leaders, creating opportunities for
investment, technology validation, co-development, manufacturing partnerships
and international market expansion. The event is expected to generate outcomes
in research and development collaborations, start-up scaling initiatives,
cross-border investment facilitation and emerging technology partnerships.
A key focus of the conclave will be strengthening institutional linkages between Indian and French innovation ecosystems through technology exchange, co-development projects and accelerated commercialisation of cutting-edge technologies. The platform will connect innovators, universities, research organisations, corporations and government stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation-driven growth.
The event is being held under the India-France Year of Innovation, jointly launched by Prime Minister Modi and President Macron in Mumbai in February 2026. As India continues to emerge as a global hub for technology-driven entrepreneurship, Bharat Innovates 2026 is expected to deepen the country’s engagement with international innovation networks and reinforce its standing as a leading destination for deep-tech innovation and investment.
