TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) is taking rooftop solar awareness and application support to the grassroots through Seva Setu Camps across its nine operational districts, as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to accelerate the adoption of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

The initiative, which began on September 17 and will continue until October 17, is being implemented at the block level across urban and rural areas, bringing information on rooftop solar, subsidy benefits, financing options and application procedures closer to consumers.

On Tuesday, Seva Setu Camps were held across Kataka district, with a special camp organised at the Tangi-Choudwar block. The event was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray in the presence of actor and political leader Arindam Roy, Tangi-Choudwar Block Development Officer N. N. Rajalaxmi Ojha, senior officials of REC India and TPCODL, and other political leaders.

The camps are aimed at simplifying the process of shifting to rooftop solar by providing consumers with on-the-spot registration assistance, information on subsidy benefits available under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, details of bank loans and financing options, and guidance on vendor selection.

TPCODL said the outreach assumes significance as more than 77,000 rooftop solar installations have already been completed across its operational area. By taking information and application support directly to communities, the distribution company aims to address consumer queries and facilitate wider adoption of rooftop solar.

“With more than 77,000 rooftop solar installations across our operational area, the momentum for clean energy adoption is growing. Through Seva Setu Camps, we are taking awareness, guidance and application support directly to communities, making rooftop solar simpler and more accessible for eligible households. We hope to encourage more consumers to participate in Odisha’s clean energy transition,” said Gajanan S. Kale, Chief – Odisha Distribution Business & CEO, TPCODL.

The Seva Setu Camps are part of TPCODL’s efforts to support the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and widen access to rooftop solar across Central Odisha. By combining awareness with registration and application assistance at the community level, the initiative seeks to reduce information and procedural barriers for households considering rooftop solar.
