TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, observed Linemen’s Day with great enthusiasm and deep respect for the frontline workforce that forms the backbone of electricity distribution services. The event, organised across all sections and offices, aimed to recognise the unwavering commitment, grit, and responsibility of linemen who ensure reliable power supply to consumers.

The programme was inaugurated by Gajanan Kale, Chief – Odisha Distribution Business and CEO, TPNODL, at the Corporate Office in the presence of Nilesh Potphode, Chief Operations Services; Jaydeep Roy, Chief Commercial & BE; Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Chief Projects and Civil; Ramendra Banik, Head HR, IR & ESA; Vipin Chauhan, Chief Contracts and Material Management; Tapan Patra, Head Safety; Jitendra Kumar Sahoo, HoG Safety; along with Superintending Engineers and other senior officials. Employees from across the DISCOM also joined the session virtually.

Addressing the gathering, Kale highlighted the vital role played by linemen in ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply, often under challenging terrain and adverse conditions.

 “Linemen are the frontline warriors who ensure reliable electricity services for our consumers. Their role at the grassroots level is paramount. At TPNODL, we are committed to empowering our linemen with the latest technology and training to enhance their safety and efficiency. I urge all linemen to prioritise safety at the site and serve consumers with utmost dedication and humility,” he said.

This year also marks the 55th National Safety Week, being observed under the theme “Engage, Educate & Empower People to Enhance Safety.” As part of the month-long observance, TPNODL has planned several employee engagement and awareness programmes aimed at strengthening safety culture among employees and business associates, while reinforcing the importance of strictly following safety protocols.

Since its inception, TPNODL’s continued focus on safety, training and technological innovation has contributed to a significant reduction in workplace accidents and improved operational efficiency.

Reaffirming its commitment to delivering reliable and quality electricity across Northern Odisha, TPNODL noted that its linemen remain at the forefront of this mission — the true “Power Victors” powering the region every day.
