Utkal Alumina International Ltd
(UAIL), a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, has launched
a Mobile Health Unit (MHU) at Railghati village in Kashipur block of Rayagada
district as part of its CSR initiative from the Baphlimali Mines.
The inauguration programme was
attended by Sarpanch of Kodipari, Dambarudhar Majhi; Human Rights
Representative Sadan Majhi; Sub-Inspector of Andirakanch Police Station Arun
Kumar Patra; along with CSR officials Manoj Dash, Devi Priya, Nirupama Barik,
Dilip Naik, MHU staff, and local community members.
Addressing the gathering,
Sarpanch Dambarudhar Majhi highlighted the visible transformation in Railghati
village due to UAIL’s CSR efforts. He noted that the village, which lacked
basic infrastructure such as road connectivity just three years ago, is now
witnessing steady, people-centric development.
Echoing similar sentiments,
Sadan Majhi lauded the company’s human-centric CSR initiatives. He informed
that the Mobile Health Unit will visit villages daily, offering free medical
services including doctor consultations, medicines, diagnostic tests, and
referral support, along with access to advanced treatment at Utkal Hospital and
government healthcare facilities.
Sub-Inspector Arun Kumar Patra
also praised UAIL’s initiatives, stating that Railghati is fast emerging as a
model of rural development. He added that the launch of the MHU reflects the
company’s strong commitment to community welfare, particularly in healthcare
and social development.
The programme saw active participation from villagers and local representatives, reflecting strong community support. The mobile healthcare initiative is expected to significantly reduce the need for residents in remote areas to travel long distances for treatment by bringing essential services to their doorstep.
Currently, two Mobile Health Units are operational under UAIL’s CSR programme, with a target to serve nearly 45,000 people in the region.
