Riding on record revenues, robust operational performance and improved cost efficiencies, Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited, India's largest aluminium producer, made a spectacular debut as an independent listed entity by delivering a stellar set of first-quarter results. The company on Thursday reported a massive 205 per cent year-on-year surge in profit to ₹6,597 crore and a 45 per cent jump in revenue to an all-time high of ₹21,105 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1FY27).

Backed by record EBITDA, highest-ever aluminium production and a significantly stronger balance sheet, the company also announced its first interim dividend of ₹8 per equity share, marking a powerful start to its standalone growth journey.

The company reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹21,105 crore, registering a growth of 13 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) and 45 per cent year-on-year (YoY), driven by higher sales volumes and improved realizations.

EBITDA climbed to a record ₹10,499 crore, reflecting a 24 per cent QoQ and 134 per cent YoY increase, supported by improved operational efficiencies and cost competitiveness. The EBITDA margin touched a best-ever 50 per cent, highlighting the company's strong profitability.

Profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹6,597 crore, marking an impressive 33 per cent QoQ and 205 per cent YoY jump, reflecting robust operating performance. The company's Board also approved its First Interim Dividend of ₹8 per equity share, rewarding shareholders following its exceptional inaugural quarterly performance.

Vedanta Aluminium further reinforced its financial position through continued deleveraging. Its Net Debt-to-EBITDA ratio improved to 0.9x from 1.3x in Q4FY26, while its strengthened financial profile earned the company a AA+ (Stable) credit rating upgrade from both CRISIL and ICRA.

Operationally, the company achieved several new milestones during the quarter. Aluminium production reached an all-time high of 632 KT, growing 3 per cent QoQ and 5 per cent YoY, while production of value-added products (VAP) touched a record 389 KT, up 4 per cent QoQ and 14 per cent YoY. Alumina production also witnessed strong growth, rising 41 per cent YoY to 826 KT, supported by enhanced refining capacity and improved asset utilisation.

Beyond its financial achievements, the company also reported significant progress across its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda during Q1FY27. Through its community development initiatives, Vedanta Aluminium reached nearly four lakh beneficiaries via need-based CSR programmes, empowered 72,000 individuals through skill development initiatives, and supported 2.7 million women and children through a wide range of social welfare programmes.

On the environmental front, renewable energy consumption increased 38 per cent YoY to 701 million units, contributing to decarbonisation efforts. The company achieved an approximately 3 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas intensity year-on-year, representing an 11.6 per cent reduction compared to the FY21 baseline, driven by renewable energy sourcing and energy-efficiency initiatives.

The company also recycled approximately 4.9 million cubic metres of water, reducing freshwater consumption through reuse, recirculation and alternative water sources. Demonstrating its commitment to the circular economy, Vedanta Aluminium achieved 120 per cent fly ash utilisation, including legacy ash, while expanding red mud reuse through its red-to-green conversion initiatives. Biodiversity conservation efforts also gathered pace, with continued plantation of native species and mine rehabilitation taking the cumulative tree plantation count to 2.9 million trees.

The company further strengthened its workplace safety culture during the quarter, reporting improved safety performance compared with Q4FY26 through a reduction in Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and an improved Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR). It also reinforced workplace safety through enhanced leadership field visits, regular safety interactions, implementation of Critical Risk Management frameworks and site-specific interventions. Additionally, Vedanta Aluminium maintained 21 per cent gender diversity across its workforce while expanding LGBTQ+ representation to more than 35 employees, reflecting its commitment to building an inclusive and future-ready workplace.
