Odisha’s industrial growth push gathered further momentum on Tuesday as the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved 20 projects with a combined proposed investment of ₹4,353 crore. The approvals, granted at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, mark another significant step in the state’s strategy to attract diversified investments and expand its manufacturing and services footprint.
According to officials, the projects span a wide range of sectors — including chemicals, electronics, aluminium, tourism, infrastructure, IT services, power and renewable energy, and food processing — reflecting Odisha’s emphasis on balanced industrialisation. Collectively, the ventures are projected to generate 7,815 employment opportunities.
The approved units will be set up across 11 districts: Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundargarh. This geographic spread, officials said, is aimed at promoting regionally distributed economic development instead of concentrated industrial growth.
“These approvals underscore the state government’s proactive approach in attracting quality investments, ensuring last-mile facilitation, and enabling the setting up of industries with ease. By distributing industrial projects across multiple districts, Odisha is promoting regionally balanced growth while unlocking new employment avenues for its young population,” an official stated.
Among the major projects approved is the floating solar power unit of NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited, to be established in Sundergarh district with an investment of ₹710.27 crore — giving a boost to Odisha’s renewable energy ambitions. Another large proposal cleared is Rashmi Metallurgical Industry Private Limited’s ₹600-crore iron ore beneficiation plant in Keonjhar, which is expected to strengthen the state’s mineral processing ecosystem.
