Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati
Parida on Monday disbursed financial assistance exceeding ₹61 crore to more than 79,000 beneficiaries who had
earlier missed receiving the first, second, or third instalments of the
‘Subhadra’ scheme due to issues such as inactive NPCI linkage, e-KYC biometric
errors, and pending grievance resolutions. The disbursement was carried out
in virtual mode from the conference hall of the Women and Child Development
Department in Bhubaneswar. The funds were transferred directly into
beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring
transparency and efficiency.
According to official data, a total of
21,901 beneficiaries received the first instalment, 22,347 received the second
instalment, and 79,601 beneficiaries were provided with the third instalment
under the scheme. The disbursement followed due verification and resolution of
cases that had remained pending at various administrative levels, reflecting a
concerted effort to streamline beneficiary inclusion.
The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed
the government’s commitment to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left
out, emphasizing that all genuine cases will be addressed through a robust and
responsive system of verification and grievance redressal. She reiterated that
the ‘Subhadra’ scheme represents a significant step towards advancing women’s
financial empowerment across the state.
She also reviewed the status of
left-out beneficiaries with district administrations, including Ganjam, Jajpur,
and Kalahandi, and directed officials to expedite the verification process to
ensure the timely inclusion of all eligible beneficiaries under the scheme.
The programme was attended by senior
officials of the Women and Child Development Department, including
Commissioner-cum-Secretary Dr. Mrinalini Darswal and Director (In-Charge)
Swayam Prava Mohanty, Additional Secretary Krutibas Rout, along with other
senior departmental officers and district officials who joined the event
virtually.
