The
Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Odisha have achieved a
record-breaking 96.45 per cent pass rate in the CBSE Class 10 Board Examination
for the academic year 2025–26, marking a significant leap in academic
excellence and consistency across the state.
According
to official data, out of 1,480 registered students from 27 EMRS institutions,
1,466 appeared for the examination, with an overwhelming majority clearing it
successfully. The pass percentage witnessed a sharp rise from last year’s 93.07
per cent to 96.45 per cent this year. Impressively, not a single student failed for the
second consecutive year, underscoring the effectiveness of sustained academic
support and mentoring systems.
The
number of schools achieving a perfect 100 per cent result increased from 9 to
12, while institutions securing pass percentages between 90 per cent and 99 per
cent rose from 11 to 13. Schools with results below 90 per cent saw a steep
decline — from 7 last year to just 2 this year — reflecting a more balanced and
widespread improvement in performance.
While
the state average pass percentage stood at 93.66% and the national average at
93.70 per cent, EMRS Odisha outperformed both benchmarks with its exceptional
results.
Among the top achievers, Mahesh Bhupathi Hembram and Hiramani Baskey from EMRS Dhanghera led with 94% each. Dushmant Majhi of EMRS Bahalda secured 93.6 per cent, followed by Aleena Alam from EMRS Karanjia with 92.63 per cent. Laxmikanta Bhatra of EMRS Hirli also delivered a strong performance, scoring 91.8 per cent.
Officials credited the success to strengthened academic monitoring, targeted learning interventions, and the unwavering commitment of teachers and school administrations. The remarkable achievement is expected to inspire greater confidence among tribal students and reinforce the role of EMRS institutions in delivering inclusive and quality education across Odisha.
