Odisha
has intensified its roadmap towards becoming a developed state by 2036, with
senior policymakers and administrative leaders holding a high-level
consultation on integrated planning and governance reforms aimed at
accelerating the state's transformation agenda.
The
strategic session, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee, was held
with O. P. Agarwal, Member of the Committee on Administrative and Governance
Reforms. The deliberations brought together top bureaucrats to fine-tune
Odisha's development architecture in alignment with the ambitious vision of
"Viksit Odisha 2036."
At
the heart of the discussions was a shift from traditional planning frameworks
to a more agile, data-driven, and future-oriented governance model. The state
is looking to build an integrated planning ecosystem that seamlessly connects
economic priorities, spatial development, and administrative reforms, ensuring
that growth remains sustainable, inclusive, and resilient.
Officials
stressed the need for sharper land-use planning and the identification of
high-potential economic drivers that can propel Odisha's next phase of growth.
Governance reforms aimed at simplifying administrative processes, improving
service delivery, and fostering stronger inter-departmental coordination were
identified as critical pillars for achieving the state's long-term
developmental aspirations.
The consultation also highlighted the importance of building institutional capacity and creating responsive governance systems capable of adapting to evolving global and local challenges. A robust administrative framework, backed by innovation and strategic foresight, was seen as essential to Odisha's emergence as a leading growth engine in India.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to align departmental strategies, strengthen institutional mechanisms, and deepen collaborative governance practices. The initiative underscores the Odisha government's determination to create a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric administrative ecosystem that can effectively drive the state's journey towards "Viksit Odisha 2036."
