Paradip Port Authority kicks off 150th anniversary celebrations of ‘Vande Mataram’ with grand commemoration

The Paradip Port Authority (PPA) marked a historic milestone on Friday with the first phase of its year-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, India’s iconic national song. Known for its inspiring call to patriotism and unity, Vande Mataram has resonated deeply with generations of Indians and played a significant role in the country’s freedom movement.

The event, led by P. L. Haranadh, Chairman of Paradip Port Authority, alongside Sumant Singh, DIG, NEZ-3, CISF Mundali Headquarters, was a momentous occasion that reflected the song’s enduring legacy and its cultural and historical importance in shaping India’s identity.

The highlight of the event was the Vande Mataram Debate Competition, where students from local schools competed on the themes of patriotism and national pride. The winners of the competition were honoured with awards, underscoring the Port Authority’s commitment to promoting national values among the younger generation.
