The 51st Raising Day of NTPC was marked by a spirited and patriotic celebration at the Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ) in Lucknow on Friday. The event was a fitting tribute to the company’s legacy of over five decades of excellence in powering the nation and fostering a unified spirit within the NTPC family.

The day began with the hoisting of the NTPC flag by Goutam Deb, Regional Executive Director (North), followed by a rendition of the NTPC Geet, reaffirming the company’s commitment to nation-building and the enduring vision of its founding leaders.

In his address, Deb reflected on NTPC’s extraordinary journey – from its humble beginnings with a single project in Singrauli to becoming India’s largest power producer. Today, NTPC has an installed capacity of 84,849 MW across multiple sources, including coal, gas, hydro, solar, wind, nuclear, and biomass. He shared the ambitious goal of NTPC to reach 150 GW by 2032, with a focus on 60 GW of renewable energy.

Deb also highlighted the NTPC Group’s impressive performance, generating 252.83 billion units of electricity, with the Northern Region contributing 67.97 billion units (26.88%). The Northern Region continues to lead in operational excellence, setting new benchmarks in safety, efficiency, environmental sustainability, as well as corporate social responsibility (CSR), awards, and employee development.

As part of the Raising Day celebrations, NRHQ launched a special branding initiative on the Lucknow Metro, showcasing NTPC’s commitment to sustainability and clean energy. The exterior branding of the metro train promotes NTPC’s role in powering the nation while advocating for green energy. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Deb, Samiran Sinha Ray (CGM – HR), senior officials, employees, their families, and officials from the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC).

In a heartwarming gesture, the Uttra Club extended its support to the Nirvan Rehabilitation Centre in Lucknow, which cares for mentally challenged women. The club donated essential items such as a washing machine, body warmers, and hygiene kits under NTPC’s CSR initiatives. The donation was led by Uttra Club President Bipasa Deb and Vice President Sangita Sinha Ray, along with other club members.

The day’s festivities also included the presentation of the Hindi Pakhwada Awards to employees who excelled in promoting the Hindi language within the organization. To conclude the celebrations, employees participated in a tree plantation drive and released balloons, marking the significance of the occasion.
