KALINGANAGAR, FEBRUARY 1, 2026

Reaffirming its long-standing commitment to inclusive development and community-centric growth, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) has taken a major stride towards empowering displaced families and land losers by shortlisting 50 candidates through a dedicated and exclusive recruitment drive. The initiative marks a significant milestone in providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to communities that have been integral to the Kalinganagar project’s journey.

The special recruitment drive, launched in July 2025, was carefully curated to ensure that only eligible candidates from displaced and land-loser families linked to the Tata Steel Kalinganagar plant were considered. Of the shortlisted candidates, 42 are Diploma holders and 8 are ITI-qualified, showcasing a diverse and skilled talent pool ready to contribute to industrial and regional growth. The next phase of the process will see candidates undergo document verification on February 4, 2026, followed by medical examinations.

The announcement has sparked optimism and pride across rehabilitation colonies. Reena Patra from Trijanga Rehabilitation Colony described her selection as life-changing, calling it not just a job opportunity but a pathway to a secure future for her family and a chance to give back to her community. Mantu Soy from Gobarghati Rehabilitation Colony echoed similar sentiments, expressing gratitude for what he termed a “big career break” made possible through this specialised drive.

The impact of the initiative has resonated deeply with families as well. Sadasiba Padhihari, father of selected candidate Sudhakar Padhihari from Trijanga Rehabilitation Colony, shared his emotional joy, stating that the opportunity has brought immense relief and hope, transforming the family’s future prospects.

The selected candidates belong to rehabilitation colonies at Trijanga, Gobarghati, Sansailo and Ramthenga, along with land-loser families from nearby panchayats including Danagadi, Pankapal, Baragadia, Mantira and Nadiabhanga, ensuring broad-based inclusion across the project-affected region.

Strengthening this collective commitment further, Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) has also launched parallel initiatives to provide employment opportunities for its displaced and land-loser families. NINL has invited applications for multiple roles for ITI and Diploma holders in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy and Civil engineering disciplines, along with positions for candidates holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety.

Together, Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s focused recruitment drive and NINL’s complementary efforts stand as landmark interventions, creating a clear and credible pathway to employment for families who have contributed land, trust and support to the industrial growth of the region, while reinforcing the ethos of responsible and inclusive business.
