Taking rooftop solar
awareness closer to consumers across Northern Odisha, TP Northern Odisha
Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has intensified its outreach under the PM
Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana through a series of Seva Setu Camps and Solar
Rath initiatives. The programmes are providing consumers with direct access
to information, application assistance and guidance on rooftop solar adoption,
subsidies and eligibility under the scheme.
Seva Setu Camps were
organised at Udala in Mayurbhanj, Bhograi in Baleshwar, Dhenkikote in Kendujhar
and Dharmasala in Jajpur, connecting consumers directly with TPNODL’s Solar
Cell, Customer Service teams and Business Associates. The teams addressed consumer
queries and provided guidance on rooftop solar solutions, eligibility criteria,
government subsidies and the application process under PM Surya Ghar. Through
these awareness initiatives and Seva Setu Camps, more than 475 consumers across
the five districts registered for the scheme in a single day.
The initiatives
received active participation from consumers, local administration and
community stakeholders.
At Udala, Hema Kanta
Say, Collector & District Magistrate, Mayurbhanj, along with other senior
officials, participated in the programme.
At Dhenkikote, Khageswar
Baral, BDO, joined the awareness initiative, while Prasant Maharana, BDO,
participated in the programme at Bhograi along with other stakeholders.
Further strengthening
its outreach in Jajpur, TPNODL launched a new Solar Rath at Dharmasala, which
will travel across rural communities, commercial marketplaces and prominent
public locations to raise awareness about rooftop solar solutions. The Solar
Rath was flagged off by Ambar Kumar Kar, Collector & District Magistrate,
Jajpur, in the presence of Judhisthir Naik, ADM, Jajpur, district
administration officials, TPNODL representatives and local stakeholders.
Speaking on the
initiative, Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, CEO, TPNODL, said, “Through our Seva Setu
Camps and Solar Rath initiatives, we are taking PM Surya Ghar closer to
communities by providing consumers with information, guidance and support for
rooftop solar adoption. With the continued support of the district administration
and our stakeholders, we remain committed to accelerating the clean energy
transition across Northern Odisha.”
The PM Surya Ghar:
Muft Bijli Yojana promotes rooftop solar adoption among residential households,
supporting cleaner energy generation and helping eligible consumers reduce
their electricity expenditure through applicable financial assistance. As part
of its continued consumer outreach, TPNODL plans to organise Seva Setu Camps
across multiple blocks in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj,
bringing information, guidance and application support closer to consumers.
Through these initiatives, TPNODL continues to strengthen consumer engagement while supporting greater awareness and adoption of rooftop solar solutions across Northern Odisha.
