Integrated metal producer Shyam Metalics & Energy Ltd has deployed 100 electric vehicles (EVs), comprising light and heavy motor vehicles, across its plant premises as part of its efforts to decarbonise operations and promote cleaner mobility in its manufacturing ecosystem.

The initiative marks a step towards integrating low-carbon transportation solutions into the company's day-to-day industrial activities, while advancing its broader sustainability agenda focused on resource efficiency, technology adoption and responsible manufacturing.

The company is also planning to progressively transition all its commercial vehicles across its plants to green alternatives, reinforcing its commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of its operational activities.

For a large integrated metals producer, where logistics, material handling and vehicle movement form an integral part of manufacturing operations, the adoption of electric and other green vehicles is expected to support the gradual shift towards more sustainable industrial practices.

Shyam Metalics' EV deployment forms part of its wider decarbonisation strategy, which encompasses operational sustainability, captive power, resource efficiency and the adoption of technology-led solutions across its manufacturing facilities.

The company continues to focus on embedding sustainability into its core operations, with cleaner mobility emerging as an important component of its long-term vision for responsible growth.

The planned expansion of green vehicles across its plants is expected to further strengthen the company's efforts to integrate lower-carbon transportation into its manufacturing footprint and align operational practices with its broader environmental objectives.
